Security and Protection of Your Personal Data

We consider it our primary task to maintain the confidentiality of the personal data you provide us and protect it from unauthorized access. That is why we take the greatest care and use the most up-to-date security standards to guarantee the maximal protection of your personal data.

As a private-law company, we are subject to the provisions of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the regulations of the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetzes or BDSG). I. Definitions

We are required by law to process personal data lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner in relation to the data subject (“lawfulness, fairness and transparency”). To ensure that this is the case, we are providing you with information about the individual legal definitions that are also being used in this privacy policy:

3.    Restriction of Processing

“Restriction of processing” means the marking of stored personal data with the aim of limiting their processing in the future.

4.    Profiling

“Profiling” means any form of automated processing of personal data consisting of the use of personal data to evaluate certain personal aspects relating to a natural person, in particular to analyze or predict aspects concerning that natural person's performance at work, economic situation, health, personal preferences, interests, reliability, behavior, location or movements.

5.    Pseudonymization

“Pseudonymization” means the processing of personal data in such a manner that the personal data can no longer be attributed to a specific data subject without the use of additional information, provided that such additional information is kept separately and is subject to technical and organizational measures to ensure that the personal data are not attributed to an identified or identifiable natural person.

6.    Filing System

“Filing system” means any structured set of personal data which are accessible according to specific criteria, whether centralized, decentralized or dispersed on a functional or geographical basis.

7.    Controller

“Controller” means the natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data; where the purposes and means of such processing are determined by Union or Member State law, the controller or the specific criteria for its nomination may be provided for by Union or Member State law.

8.    Processor

“Processor” means a natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which processes personal data on behalf of the controller.

9.    Recipient

“Recipient” means a natural or legal person, public authority, agency or another body, to which the personal data are disclosed, whether a third party or not. However, public authorities which may receive personal data in the framework of a particular inquiry in accordance with Union or Member State law shall not be regarded as recipients; the processing of those data by those public authorities shall be in compliance with the applicable data protection rules according to the purposes of the processing.

10.    Third Party

“Third party” means a natural or legal person, public authority, agency or body other than the data subject, controller, processor and persons who, under the direct authority of the controller or processor, are authorized to process personal data.

11.    Consent

“Consent” of the data subject means any freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous indication of the data subject's wishes by which he or she, by a statement or by a clear affirmative action, signifies agreement to the processing of personal data relating to him or her.

 

II. Lawfulness of Processing

Processing shall be lawful only if and to the extent that there is a legal basis for the processing. In accordance with point (a) of Article 6(1) GDPR, a legal basis for processing can be, specifically:

  1. the data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes;
  2. processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract;
  3. processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the controller is subject;
  4. processing is necessary in order to protect the vital interests of the data subject or of another natural person;
  5. processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller;
  6. processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the controller or by a third party, except where such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject which require protection of personal data, in particular where the data subject is a child.
     

§ 1 Information About the Collection of Personal Data

(1) In the following, we provide information about the collection of personal data upon the use of our website. Personal data include all data that can be personally referenced to you such as name, address, email address, user behavior.

(3) Upon contacting us via email or a contact form, we will store the data you share with us (your email address and, if applicable, your name and telephone number) in order to answer your question. We will delete the data collected in this context after the purpose is no longer necessary or will limit their processing if legal retention requirements apply. The processing of this data is necessary to process your request and any subsequent order. The data processing shall be carried out in accordance with Article 6 (1) (a) of the GDPR.

(4) If we make use of contracted providers to carry out individual features of our offering or would like to use your data for advertising purposes, we will inform you in detail about the respective activities below. This will include specifying the established criteria for determining how long we will store your data.
 

§ 2 Your Rights

§ 3 Collection of Personal Data During Visits to Our Website

(1) If you visit our website for purely informational purposes, meaning you do not register or provide other information to us, we collect only the personal data transmitted to our server by your browser. If you would like to view our website, we collect the following data which are technically necessary for us to display our website and to ensure its stability and security (legal basis is sentence 1 point [f] of Article 6[1] GDPR):

(4) Use of Usercentrics

This website uses the consent management platform Usercentrics, a service of Usercentrics GmbH, Rosental 4, 80331 Munich (hereinafter: "Usercentrics"), on the basis of Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. c DSGVO. Usercentrics collects log file and consent data on certain cookies and tools by means of a JavaScript. This JavaScript makes it possible to inform visitors about their consent to certain tags on our website and to obtain, manage and document this consent. In particular, the following data are processed (1) the consent data (anonymised logbook data (Consent ID, Processor ID, Controller ID), Consent Status, Timestamp, (2) the data of the devices used (including shortened IP addresses (IP v4, IP v6), device information, Timestamp) and (3) user data (including eMail, ID, browser information, SettingIDs, Changelog).
 
The data collected in this way is stored for a period of 1 year or is deleted if you request us to do so. Mandatory legal storage obligations remain unaffected.
 
We have concluded a contract with Usercentrics for commissioned processing in accordance with Art. 28 DSGVO, in which Usercentrics undertakes to process the data received only in accordance with our instructions and to comply with the EU data protection level.

(5) Use of Google Analytics (GA4)

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc,.1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereinafter: "Google"). The legal basis for this data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a DSGVO in conjunction with. § 25 para.1 TTDSG. The tool uses the "Measurement Protocol" and thus collects specific parameters and information about user interactions, such as in particular the page URL, the language used, the location, the page title, the referrer, the device type, the screen resolution, the operating system and other relevant data. The information collected in this way is transferred to Google's servers and stored there. The storage period is 14 months
 
We have concluded a contract with Google on commissioned processing in accordance with Art. 28 DSGVO, in which Google undertakes to process the data received only in accordance with our instructions and to comply with the EU level of data protection. Specifically, we have commissioned Google to use the data collected via our website solely for the purpose of evaluating the use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing us with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The data collected in this way may be merged with data from other data processing operations described in this privacy policy for the purpose of optimising customer service and communication.
 
You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. (6) Integration of Google Maps

a) On this website, we use services provided by Google Maps. This allows us to display interactive maps directly in our website and makes it possible for you to easily use the map function.

b) Your visit to our website informs Google that you have accessed the corresponding subpage of our website. In addition, the data named in Section 3 of this Privacy Policy are also transmitted to the provider. This occurs independently of whether you have a user account with Google with which you are logged in, or you have no user account. The basis for data processing in a non-member country is a data processing contract.

In order to design and further optimise our marketing campaigns in a needs-based manner and to measure their conversion, we use an individual so-called visitor action pixel from LinkedIn, LinkedIn Corporation, Mountain View, CA 9.5.2008 (hereinafter "LinkedIn") on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO in conjunction with Art. 25 para. 1 TTDSG. § Section 25 (1) TTDSG, we use an individual so-called visitor action pixel from LinkedIn, LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereinafter "LinkedIn"). This allows us to track the behaviour of site visitors after they have been redirected to our recruiting pages by clicking on a LinkedIn ad. This allows us to evaluate the effectiveness of our LinkedIn ads for statistical purposes and optimise future advertising measures. The following information in particular is processed during the deployment: Timestamp, referrer URL, campaign-related information (in particular specification of the impression, form field, activated button) and demographic information such as job title, seniority, company, company size, location and country.
The data collected in this way is anonymous for us and therefore does not allow us to draw any conclusions about the identity of the respective user. The data is stored for a maximum of 90 days. The data is also stored and processed by LinkedIn so that a connection to the respective user profile is possible and LinkedIn can use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with theLinkedIn data protection policy. We have concluded a contract with LinkedIn on commissioned processing in accordance with Art. 28 DSGVO, in which Pinterest undertakes to process the data received only in accordance with our instructions and to comply with the EU level of data protection. (11) Use of CrazyEgg

If you call a telephone number connected to us by Matelso, information about the telephone call will be transmitted to a web analysis service (Google Analytics) utilised by us. Matelso also reads cookies and/or other parameters of the website you visit, for example: referrer, document path, and remote user agent. These parameters are set by our analysis service. The corresponding information is processed by Matelso according to our instructions and is stored on servers in the EU. a) This website uses the Acuity Scheduling software from Squarespace, Inc. 225 Varick Street, 12th Floor, New York 10014. Acuity Scheduling offers an online appointment scheduling service. This service uses cookies that are stored on your computer and also collects information such as your name, phone number and email address. This allows us to remind you of your scheduled appointments and gives you the option to reschedule or cancel appointments.

b) The legal basis for use is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a DSGVO in the case of personal data entered voluntarily by the user and Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f DSGVO for the integration of the plugin and its use of cookies. (17) SatisMeter
a) We use Satismeter, a service of SatisMeter s.r.o., Česká 1113/1, Prague 5, 158 00, Czech Republic to conduct customer satisfaction surveys according to the NPS method.
b) Satismeter processes the customer rating and transmits it to ActiveCampaign together with the ActiveCampaign ContactID. 
c) As part of the Marketing Automation, this processing is subject to the Marketing Automation consent according to art. 6 par. 1 letter a) of the DSGVO.

(18) Visual Website Optimizer
On our website we use the Visual Website Optimizer (VWO) tool, a service provided by Wingify Software Private Limited, 404, Gopal Heights, Netaji Subhash Place, Pitam Pura, Delhi 110034, India (hereinafter "Wingify"). We use the service to perform so-called A/B tests and other optimisation activities. This service collects and analyses  data concerning the use of the website. (19) Sweap

On our website, we use the "Sweap" platform, a service of Sweap Development GmbH, Rankestraße 9, 10789 Berlin, for online registration and for the purpose of organising the event. This is used to manage the names of our guests, who then receive an invitation to the fair and can register via a registration page. The data processed in this way, in particular the name and e-mail address of the guests, are processed via Sweap's servers and stored there.

The processing of the data is based on your consent in accordance with Article 6 (1) (a) DSGVO or in accordance with Article 6 (1) (b) DSGVO. You can revoke your consent at any time by sending an e-mail. The lawfulness of the processing based on your consent remains unaffected until we receive your revocation.

(20) Integration of Youtube
We sometimes include third-party content on our website, such as videos from Youtube, a service provided by Youtube LLC. 901 Cherry Ave. San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. To display this content, your IP address must be transmitted to Youtube. When you visit our website, a direct connection is therefore established with the Youtube servers via your browser. Your browser is automatically prompted by the respective content embedded on our website to download a representation of the corresponding component from Youtube. As part of this technical process, Youtube receives information about which specific sub-page of our website you are visiting and collects technical data, such as browser type/version, operating system used, IP address, etc. for this purpose. The data generated in this way is transferred to a Youtube server in the USA and stored there.

The legal basis for the use of your data is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The processing to improve our websites by enriching and complementing the content with informative videos is to be regarded as our legitimate interest.

We have concluded a contract with Youtube on commissioned processing in accordance with Art. 28 DSGVO, in which Youtube undertakes to process the data received only in accordance with our instructions and to comply with the EU level of data protection.
You can prevent the installation of the cookie in advance by setting your browser software accordingly or object to this processing by deleting cookies via your browser settings or changing the corresponding settings in the

  1. We use the insights function provided by Facebook for the operation of our Facebook fan page. This function provides us with anonymous, statistical data regarding the visitors to our fan page.
